Hanji Edition is a limited edition print portfolio, the first of its kind in North America. This portfolio, which will be entirely made of hanji (Korean handmade paper), is designed to highlight the beauty and versatile potential of hanji as a substrate for print. We have invited five distinguished artists who will each contribute a print on hanji, using processes ranging from letterpress, monotype, intaglio, mokuhanga (Japanese woodcut), giclée, and chine collé. As traditional hanji mills in Korea rapidly decline, our goal is to introduce artists and art appreciators to this material through the vehicle of print.
